Personal Biography
Dr. Appelstein is an Endodontist with a passion for helping patients find relief from dental pain. After earning his undergraduate degree from Penn State University, he went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in 2004. He then completed a General Practice Residency at the VA New Jersey Healthcare System in 2005, where he discovered a particular interest in Endodontics.
Following a year working as a private practice General Dentist, Dr. Appelstein returned to UMDNJ to pursue advanced specialty training in Endodontics, completing a two-year residency in 2008. Since then, he has been a dedicated member of the team at Washington Township Dental Associates.
While many patients associate root canals with discomfort, Dr. Appelstein’s calm demeanor, clinical expertise, and patient-centered approach have earned him the trust of thousands of patients over the years.
Outside of the office, Dr. Appelstein enjoys cooking, spending quality time with his wife and two children, staying active through exercise, and practicing meditation.
