Personal Biography
Dr. Ajay Mahendrasah is passionate about combining clinical excellence with compassion to create truly transformative dental experiences. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of South Florida before completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. He went on to complete a General Practice Residency at New York Medical College, where he advanced his skills in comprehensive patient care.
Dr. Mahendrasah loves that dentistry allows him to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, whether it’s helping a patient out of pain, restoring their smile, or improving their confidence. His philosophy centers on patient-centered care rooted in empathy, communication, and trust. He believes in treating every patient like family and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed every step of the way.
One of Dr. Mahendrasah’s most memorable moments in practice was helping a patient who had been without teeth for years regain both function and confidence through a new set of dentures. Seeing that patient smile again—and witnessing the joy that came with it—reinforced his belief that dentistry is about far more than teeth; it’s about restoring quality of life.
Born and raised in Southwest Florida, Dr. Mahendrasah moved to New York for his residency and quickly fell in love with the energy and diversity of the state. Outside the office, he enjoys exploring New York City’s vibrant culinary scene, cooking, learning new languages, traveling, and watching films—both new releases and timeless classics. He also values spending time outdoors, whether it’s a stroll through Central Park or a weekend escape upstate.
Dr. Mahendrasah comes from a close-knit family that has always emphasized integrity, perseverance, and lifelong learning—values that continue to shape his approach to both dentistry and life.
