Personal Biography
Dr. Jackie Schmidt, DDS, is a compassionate general and cosmetic dentist dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through personalized, comprehensive care. With more than nine years of patient-care experience spanning dental hygiene and clinical dentistry, she brings a distinctive preventive foundation, a strong aesthetic perspective, and a calm, approachable chairside manner to every visit. Dr. Schmidt takes time to listen carefully, explain treatment options clearly, and develop thoughtful plans that support long-term oral health, comfort, and function.
Dr. Schmidt completed eight consecutive years of academic and clinical training at New York University, earning both her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees with cum laude distinction. Her honors include the NYU Founders’ Day Award, University Honors Scholar recognition, and induction into the Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Honor Society. Beginning her career as a dental hygienist before becoming a dentist shaped her commitment to prevention, patient education, and building trust through clear communication.
As a general and cosmetic dentist, Dr. Schmidt provides comprehensive care across restorative, prosthodontic, and aesthetic dentistry. Her clinical interests include cosmetic bonding, crowns and bridges, veneers and smile makeovers, Invisalign treatment, implant restorations, root canal therapy, extractions, whitening, emergency dentistry, and treatment planning for complex restorative needs. She is especially passionate about helping patients who feel self-conscious about their smiles or anxious about dental treatment. Her goal is to create a comfortable environment in which patients feel heard, informed, and confident in each decision.
Dr. Schmidt is a Certified Invisalign Provider and a Certified Aesthetic Injector through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Her advanced knowledge of facial anatomy allows her to evaluate the smile within the broader context of facial balance and function. When appropriate, she also offers botulinum toxin and dermal fillers as part of comprehensive treatment plans for concerns such as TMJ-related discomfort, bruxism, gummy smiles, and facial aesthetics. Her approach remains conservative and patient-centered, with an emphasis on safety, balance, and results that complement each patient’s natural features.
Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Schmidt has completed more than 500 hours of continuing education in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, full-mouth rehabilitation, Invisalign, dental implants, TMJ management, aesthetic injectables, and minimal-prep veneers. She participates in Spear Study Club and remains involved with the Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Clear Aligners, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, American Dental Association, and state dental associations in New York and New Jersey.
Dr. Schmidt’s background also includes experience at NYU’s Bluestone Center for Clinical Research, where she contributed to research involving biomaterials, implants, oral cancer, cavity prevention, and teeth-whitening advancements. This scientific foundation continues to inform her evidence-based approach and commitment to current, proven treatment options. She also enjoys mentoring pre-dental and dental hygiene students and supporting the next generation of dental professionals.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Schmidt enjoys Pilates, yoga, skiing, traveling, and exploring New York City’s vibrant restaurant scene.
